FAQs
I've never boxed before can I do the course?
Yes the course starts from learning from the basic punches and footwork through to the advanced reactionary moves we teach on day two.
I've boxed (or done martial arts and other combat sports) before, is it worth me coming to do your course?
Yes, because we teach all the course from both boxing stances (Orthadox and Southpaw) and with our methods of teaching we're sure we'll add to the skills you already have.
What form does the course take?
The course is ALL practical, we work at the pace of the group, there are plenty of demonstrations throughout and enough coaches to ensure you'll have the best learning enviroment possible.
Is there an exam/assessment?
Yes, that's all practical as well, and covers all the aspects of the course, you'll be assessed on a one to one basis by our instructors.
What do I wear?
Be dressed ready for a workout, also bring water with you because as said earlier the course is all practical and you'll need to keep hydrated.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
No we will have plenty of equipment available for you, if you want to bring your own pads and gloves you're more than welcome to, but we will only accept boxing gloves and not any other, for safety purposes.
Can I bring a friend and just work with them?
You're more than welcome to bring a friend the more the merrier, but you won't work exclusively with them for the simple reason the clients you'll get after you've gained your Padbox qualification will come in all shapes and sizes, we pride ourselves on teaching you on how to safely train clients however big or small they are as well as how hard they can hit.
How will I remember what I've learnt on the course?
As well as your free training manual and course dvd, you're more than welcome to come back onto any course FREE OF CHARGE to practice with us. All you have to do is notify us that you want to come.
Also students that haven't reached our standard first time round can have up to two re-takes free of charge (within a 12 month period).
What if I need advice on boxing training or boxing circuits?
We're only a phone call or email away, we'll happily provide continued support for our instructors on all aspects of boxing, this was part of the reason we set up our successful Skipping and Circuit workshops to make sure our circuits are boxing specific not just a normal circuit with pads in.
Is Padbox like other boxing courses ? And why should I choose you?
No we feel Padbox is the most realistic boxing course in the industry, we've used our knowledge and experience of amateur and professional boxing to create a course that teaches from the basics through to advanced moves that will give your clients a feel of what boxing's really like.
Whilst we're professional in our approach we also create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which to learn the Padbox course.
